Comprehensive research on the Japanese Constitution: Understanding the Japanese Constitution from multiple perspectives and multiple angles

Seminar Introduction

In this seminar, students will delve deeply into and analyze the constitutional issues and important legal precedents learned in the courses "General Theory of the Constitution and Governing Institutions" and "Constitutional Human Rights" from a multifaceted and multilateral perspective, while also comparing them with the constitutional systems of other countries.
Specifically, the course will proceed in three stages. 1) Group work will be conducted on individual themes, and the problems and issues of each theme will be analyzed and discussed. 2) The content of the group work will be reported (presentation). 3) Group debate will be held on the individual theme. The teacher in charge will set the theme as a suggestion, but if there is a theme that the seminar students want to work on, that will be given priority.
In addition, we plan to use the long holidays to exchange ideas with seminars from other universities, hold seminar camps, and hold extracurricular activities, making for fulfilling seminar activities.

If you are still unsure, ask yourself, as stated in our university guidelines: Why am I studying? What kind of person do I want to become? What kind of life do I want to live? You have infinite possibilities. Whatever your past or present, you can open up a bright future depending on your efforts from now on. Be ambitious, hone your character, and work hard on the tasks at hand. I will face you closely so that you can think at the graduation ceremony, "I'm really glad I entered Soka University."
