Specialized Field | Special Needs Education, School Management |
---|---|
Research theme | Improving quality of life, vocational education, health education, human resource development |
research content | I have been involved in school management as the principal of a Tokyo Metropolitan Special Needs School for 15 years. During that time, I have consistently pursued the ideal form of school education that aims to realize a rich life for children. As part of that, at three schools, Shimura Gakuen, Minami-Osawa Gakuen, and Fuchu Keyaki-no-Mori Gakuen, research activities focusing on children's QOL (quality of life) have been positioned in the school management plan and have been linked to improvements in classes. The purpose of special needs education is often seen as one-sided, with the realization of "social participation" and "social independence" at the time of graduation being considered the goal, so I strongly hope to share with you the perspective of "enriching the lives of each individual child" throughout their life. |
