Research theme | Comprehensive research on environmental legal systems. With reference to the legal systems of other countries, we are researching theoretical issues, practical issues, and new roles and functions of future environmental laws and environmental management from the perspective of practical problem-solving. |
research content | In the Environmental Law Lab, you can also learn about environmental laws from around the world. We aim to solve local and global environmental problems by referring to the legal systems of other countries. In order to solve the complex and diverse environmental problems of today, relying only on the law is not enough. There are also ways to use economic mechanisms to lead to an environmentally friendly lifestyle. Providing a lot of environmental information can also create an opportunity for people to take action themselves. It is also possible to make agreements with companies to take a more proactive approach to environmental conservation than the law. We will consider together how to combine these various methods to solve environmental problems. We value the perspective of "Think globally, act locally!" and aim to acquire practical problem-solving skills. |

Specialized Field | Administrative Law and Environmental Law |
---|---|
Research theme | Research on environmental law and policy |
research content | With reference to the environmental legal systems of other countries, we are conducting research on policy mixes that combine methods such as "direct regulation as legal regulation," "indirect regulation such as economic methods," "environmental regulation using information methods," and "environmental agreements through treaty methods" in order to ensure that environmental law can fully fulfill its role. Based on the theoretical accumulation and approaches of conventional public and private law, we are researching theoretical and practical issues, as well as new roles and functions of future environmental law and environmental management from the perspective of practical problem-solving. |
Research and Education Policy | Aiming to solve environmental problems at the local and global levels, we conduct research centering on administrative law and environmental law. We focus on environmental law and management that considers the relationship between humans, society, and the environment in a recycling-oriented society (interrelationships between local communities, businesses, local governments, and the nation), while analyzing and researching new environmental legal systems and management and conservation methods, such as utilizing market advantages, environmental agreements, information and voluntary interrelationships between local communities and businesses, risk assessment and risk communication, voluntary management and voluntary environmental consideration, EMAS (Environmental Management Systems) as framework management, ISO14000 series environmental management, and strategic environmental assessment. |
