research content

Research on the modern history of the Duchy of Lorraine, focusing on the 18th century.
In recent years, I have been attempting to reexamine previous assessments of Lorraine's historical characteristics and regional character by extracting the network of European aristocrats centered around the Lorraine aristocracy.

Research and Education Policy

Research: I plan to continue my research into the history of Europe, including the Duchy of Lorraine in the early modern period.
In this context, I would like to explore ways of constructing new regional history research from the perspective of borders and border power.
Education: If necessary, we will provide thorough instruction starting from the basics of history.
However, graduate students are already researchers as well.
I would like to strive to build a relationship in which we can discuss and learn from each other on an equal footing while respecting each other.
At the same time, I expect students to take initiative and responsibility in their research, and to demonstrate the awareness and pride of being researchers.

Message

Research involves very tedious and solitary work.
However, research cannot be done in isolation. I hope that you will lead a fulfilling student life by helping and encouraging each other with your faculty and classmates, proactively interacting with the outside world, and sometimes enjoying the solitude of working on your research alone. I sincerely hope that this will open up prospects for your future.
