Japanese Language Education

Research theme
  • A study of instruction that reflects the reading process of literary materials
  • Research on opinion writing instruction
research content

Moving away from the traditional Japanese language education of teaching what one wants to teach, and teaching what can be taught, we are explaining the mechanisms of reading, writing, and speaking, and researching teaching methods that follow these principles.

Research and Education Policy

Until now, Japanese language education has been researched and taught in three separate areas: speaking/listening, writing, and reading. However, because language is not actually used in a strictly separate way, it is also necessary to study the three areas in an integrated manner, and we are considering making this the subject of future research.

Message

When we think about Japanese language education, we realize that it is an attempt to bring together various studies, knowledge, and linguistic experiences related to the Japanese language, and that it can be a way to gain an overview of the Japanese language.
