Linguistics, Modern Japanese Language, Speech Function Theory

Research theme

Modern Japanese grammar. He is working on constructing a theory of speech function that reinterprets interpersonal modality as a sentence function and incorporates findings from pragmatics and speech act theory.

research content

Modern Japanese grammar. In particular, I have reinterpreted interpersonal modality as a sentence function based on propositional content conditions, and have been working to describe the grammatical features of the vocabulary that serves as its predicate. I am currently working on the construction of a theory of speech function that combines knowledge of pragmatics and speech act theory with this theory of sentence function.

Research and Education Policy

With the theory of speech function as the unifying theme, I would like to provide education according to the goals of each student. I would like students who wish to become Japanese language teachers to study practical speech function theory as the theoretical foundation of the communicative approach, and students who wish to conduct linguistics research to study theoretical speech function theory.

Message

Let us learn together about language education as human education and linguistics as human studies.
