research content | I am researching the grammar of modern Japanese, focusing on formal verbs. A verb that does not express an action, a specific verb that lacks specificity, and grammatically does not function without the help of other elements, and yet is the most frequently used verb. What kind of properties does it have, and what is its place in the Japanese language? I also look at various phenomena in modern Japanese from the perspective of Japanese language education, placing importance on how to explain it to foreigners who are learning Japanese. |
Research and Education Policy | We will continue to look at the structure and function of modern Japanese grammar. As we study these things together with our students, we hope that they will acquire the ability to objectively analyze, consider, and prove their ideas. To that end, both teachers and students will study together as researchers on an equal footing, sincerely, and advance on the path of academic research. |
Message | Let's study hard together. |
