Message | Even now, when we talk about "democracy," we generally think of domestic political systems. However, when we consider the most fundamental meaning of democracy, which is "self-determination," active citizen activity is essential. The key words are voluntary organizations such as NGOs, civil society, and social movements that transcend borders. Since this is a transnational movement, citizens are people with different cultures and identities, and inclusive dialogue and deliberation must be possible between these people. When considering issues such as these, the term "radical democracy" appears in political theory. In addition, when considering the role of democratic citizens (citizenship) in this global era, sociological research is also important. Let's think together about how we can make democracy even more democratic! |
