Interview

Please introduce yourself.

I went from Soka University to the University of the Philippines, the University of Hawaii, Monash University in Malaysia, and wandered around the southern islands (peninsulas) before finally returning to my alma mater. I can't stand the cold.

Please tell us about your research.

I am interested in and exploring such questions as how shareholder benefit coupons are valued in the market, why they are not widely used overseas, and whether individual participation in the financial market will revitalize the Japanese economy.

What kind of contributions to society do you expect as your research progresses?

I believe that a greater understanding of the link between financial economics and the real economy will enable individuals, companies, countries and others to make better decisions when faced with various options.

What can you learn in the seminar?

You will learn about the role of financial markets and how individuals and companies interact with money.

Please say a few words to all the students.

University is not about knowledge itself, but about the motivation to continue learning, the ability to acquire knowledge and understand. I want students to build the core they need to succeed in their long lives at university.
