Soka University ranks 9th among private universities nationwide in the "THE Impact Rankings 2025"! - Ranked 1st in the "SDG 4: Quality Education" category (2nd overall in Japan)

In the overall ranking of the "THE Impact Rankings 2025" (announced June 18, 2025), Soka University was ranked tied for 9th among private universities nationwide (tied for 40th overall in Japan).

Furthermore, in the rankings by SDG, the university was ranked first among private universities nationwide (second overall in Japan) in the area of "SDG 4: Quality Education for All," and tied for first place (tied for second overall in Japan) in the area of "SDG 10: Reduced inequalities within and among countries."

The rankings, published by the British higher education magazine "Times Higher Education (THE)," evaluate and visualize universities' contributions to sustainability based on the framework of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). For 2025, 2,526 universities from 130 countries and regions around the world were ranked.

Soka University opened the SDGs Promotion Center in 2019, and has positioned the SDGs as a priority alongside education, research, and diversity in its medium- to long-term plan, "Soka University Grand Design 2021-2030." Going forward, faculty, staff, and students will continue to work together to further promote efforts toward achieving the SDGs.
