Faculty of Education Shuhei Iimura Lecturer Invited Lecture at International Society of Sensitivity in UK
On May 23, Shuhei Iimura (Faculty of Education Lecturer Iimura gave an invited talk at the 3rd International Conference on Sensitivity Research, ICSR2025 held at the University of Surrey, Guildford, UK.
This conference was an international conference aimed at sharing the latest research findings on sensitivity and deepening interdisciplinary discussion, and was attended by researchers from around the world.
Lecturer Iimura gave a lecture on the theme of "Environmental Sensitivity and Gut Health" and introduced the latest research findings from the perspectives of psychology and physiology on how individual differences in sensitivity affect mental and physical health, especially the relationship between the gut environment and the gut environment. In the lecture, suggestions for understanding the characteristics of highly susceptible people and creating better support and environments were presented, and there was a great deal of interest from the participants.
Lecturer Iimura said, "To be honest, I wasn't sure how interested the participants would be until the lecture started. This is because it was a pioneering content that questioned the relationship between the brain-gut correlation and environmental sensitivity, which no one had ever tackled in my research area. However, these fears were unfounded. After the Q&A session and the lecture, we received a response that exceeded our expectations, leading to lively and new discussions. I would like to use this stimulating experience as a springboard to further contribute to the development of sensitivity research."
