Soka University ranked in the QS World University Rankings for the first time!

Soka University has been ranked for the first time in the "QS World University Rankings 2026" (announced on June 19, 2025). This ranking is published annually by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), a British university evaluation agency. Measurement indicators include reputation among researchers and employers around the world, number of papers and citations, international collaborative research networks, as well as the number of faculty members, number of foreign faculty members, and ratio of international students.
This time, our university was ranked "1400+" overall, and tied for 43rd place in Japan. In particular, we received high marks in the following indicators.
- Ratio of foreign faculty members: 345th in the world (3rd in Japan)
- Evaluation by researchers worldwide: 700th in the world + 39th in Japan
- Ranked 700th in the world by global employers (32nd in Japan)
- Percentage of international students: 800th in the world + 20th in Japan
As a school that has been selected by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) "Top Global University Creation Support (project period: 2014~2023)", we have been continuously working to build an educational environment rich in internationality. Currently, we have concluded academic exchange agreements with 272 universities in 70 countries and regions, and have realized a highly diverse campus with approximately 10% of the students being international students.
Our university's first ranking in the QS World University Rankings is a result of the university's efforts to develop an international educational environment and improve the quality of its education and research. As the "highest educational institution for human education," we will continue to strive to cultivate "global citizens" who create value.
