Departure Ceremony Held for 2025 Exchange Students - Studying in 28 Countries and Regions
On Wednesday, July 2, the departure ceremony for the 2025 Soka University exchange students was held at Global Square.
An exchange program is a program that allows students to study abroad at an exchange school while still studying at an exchange school based on an exchange agreement with an overseas university. This departure ceremony is for Exchange Program B Group departing around August ~ October and will study abroad in 28 countries and regions, including Kenya and the United States.
At the departure ceremony, International Affairs Office President Taeko Yasutake looked back on her experience of studying abroad in the Philippines as a student, and introduced the history of the founder, Ms. Daisaku Ikeda, who has built friendly relations with overseas universities since the beginning of the school, and said, "Please have a wonderful study abroad life with your friends while actively interacting with local people."
After the student representatives, Mizuho Okiya (Faculty of Science and Engineering 3rd year) and Kazuo Nishimatsu (Faculty of Economics 3rd year), expressed their aspirations for studying abroad, Mika Suzuki President said, "I am looking forward to having a fruitful and fulfilling study abroad life and returning to Japan with great growth."
Finally, Yoshihide Akiya, Chairperson, Board of Trustees, introduced the graduates who experienced exchange programs during their student days and are active on the front lines of society, and sent encouragement, saying, "I hope you will open up your own life and study abroad."
