"Graduates talk about the appeal of careers and employment at Soka University" held at open campus

On both Saturday, August 2nd and Sunday, August 3rd, we held an event titled "Graduates talk about the appeal of careers and employment at Soka University" for high school students and their parents at our open campus.
At this event, alumni active in a wide range of fields, including foreign IT companies, major electronics manufacturers, and major educational services, took to the stage to give presentations about what they learned and experienced while at university, as well as what they find rewarding about their current jobs. Afterwards, participants split into groups to ask questions and receive advice about careers, employment, student life, choosing a major, and more, deepening their interactions with the alumni.
Voices from high school students
- I was able to learn more about the career support provided from enrollment to graduation. I was worried about finding a job after graduating from university, but after this discussion, my worries are gone.
- I was struggling to choose a major, but I realized that in this day and age, any study can lead to a career, and my options expanded.
- I was reminded that Soka University has a wide range of faculties and that its graduates have excellent careers. I wanted to learn English, so I was relieved to find that they have a comprehensive study abroad program and support system. I felt that this was an environment where I could grow not only academically but also as a person, and where I had friends who could help me improve.
Comments from parents
- I was able to hear in detail about the background leading up to his admission, the efforts he made while at the university, and his future contributions to society, and I really felt the appeal of Soka University. I really want my son to carve out his own path in life at Soka University.
- The talks based on the experiences of graduates were wonderful. I have been to open campuses at various universities, but I felt that the appeal of Soka University lies in the strong connections between people.
- I was moved by the sight of each graduate taking pride in their work in society. They spoke in detail about their experiences and learning during their four years at university, and this strengthened my desire for all of them to study at Soka University.
This event was held with the cooperation of graduates of the University's Career Center's extracurricular course, "Global Leader College (GLC)," and members of the Soka University Frontier Association (an organization of alumni who were active as CSS and RSS members while they were students).
Through interactions with our alumni, our university will continue to communicate to high school students and their parents the appeal of careers and employment, as well as the realities of student life.
