A special event was held with Nobutaka Tsubota, author of "Flying Girl" and head of Tsubota Juku.

In conjunction with the open campus on Sunday, August 3rd, a special event was held in a hybrid format of the university's Discovery Hall and online welcoming Nobutaka Tsubota, the author of "Billy Gal" and the president of Tsubota Juku.
This event was attended by about 500 people who gave lectures on how to study for the future for junior high and high school students who are aiming to go on to university.
Mr. Tsubota gave a lecture titled "Techniques to Rapidly Improve Grades for Anyone". From the perspective of "merging science and passion" in learning, he mentioned the importance of reframing things in a positive way and accumulating small success experiences.
The following comments were received from the participants.
- The talks were all very useful. I was a bit unsure about my future, but this gave me a chance to reconsider the meaning of going to university and how to approach my studies. (Second-year high school student)
- After hearing about the new faculties and departments at Soka University starting in 2026, I was able to broaden my options for my future career. (Third-year high school student)
- "I found the information on how to interact with and advise children, especially how to support them in the lead-up to entrance exams, very informative. He spoke with a touch of humor, which made it very easy to listen to." (Parent)
