University information sessions held in four cities in Malaysia

From August 2nd to 5th, university information sessions were held in four cities in Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur, Klang, Johor Bahru, and Serangbang), with the participation of Faculty of International Liberal Arts President Ichiro Sugimoto, Professor Tatsuki Toda Faculty of Science and Engineering, and International Affairs Department staff. At the information session, more than 1,000 local people participated in the briefing session, which conveyed the internationality of the university and the appeal of education through introductions to the content of university learning and student life, as well as individual consultations.
In addition, on August 2, a briefing session was held in Kuala Lumpur, the capital, in a hybrid format using both face-to-face and online. After explaining the features of the English Medium Program (EMP) Faculty of International Liberal Arts and the newly established Department of Faculty of Science and Engineering Green Technology in 2026, current students and alumni from Malaysia shared their experiences of university life. Many students and parents participated in the individual consultation after the end, and serious questions and answers were exchanged for further education.
From August 3rd onwards, the briefing session was held while touring various parts of Klang, Johor Bahru and Serambang. Local staff introduced university life, and current students and alumni gave presentations, and commented that they would like to study at Soka University. In addition, students and parents of Soka International School Malaysia (SISM) also participated in this information session.
On August 4, the delegation visited Foon Yew High School in Johor Balu, one of Asia's leading Chinese-American independent high schools, to exchange views on building friendship in the future, and on August 5, they held special briefings at two schools, Chan Wan High School and Chung Hua High School in Serang Bang. Through mini-lectures on liberal arts and green technology, as well as videos by current students, the students introduced the characteristics of university learning and answered specific questions about costs.
