[For high school students] "What can university learning lead to international cooperation?" was held

On Sunday, August 3, we invited our university's graduates who are active in the field of international cooperation to Lecturer and held a special program for high school students, "What is university learning that leads to international cooperation?"
In the morning, after Lecturer introduced "international cooperation work", the participating high school students disguised themselves as "international organization staff" and found problems from photos of developing countries, discussed them in groups, and presented solutions. In addition to exchanging opinions inside and outside the group, we also deepened our understanding of international cooperation work from multiple angles through feedback from Lecturer.
In the afternoon, under the theme of "Studying linked to international cooperation," students explored the expertise and skills needed to succeed in the international field. Afterwards, with a campus guide in hand, students researched the learning opportunities in each faculty that are linked to international cooperation, and engaged in a workshop to find the "study that best suits" them.
The following comments were received from the participating high school students:
・Everyone I met was so warm and welcoming, and I was able to imagine what university life would be like after I enrolled. I also felt that the university provided ample support to each and every student, and created an environment where I could challenge myself to do what I wanted to do.
・I learned that there are many ways to get involved in international cooperation, and I'm looking forward to thinking about which path is right for me.
This program, which takes place over the course of a day and allows participants to deepen their understanding of international cooperation work and explore in detail what kind of learning they can expect in each faculty, is held every year during the open campus in May and August. We look forward to the participation of high school students who want to "play an active role on the world stage" and who are interested in working in international cooperation.
