Jun Kasai (2022 Faculty of Letters graduate/Asahi Kasei), a graduate of the university's Ekiden Club, has been selected as the representative for the men's 10,000-meter track and field team at the Tokyo 2025 World Athletics Championships to be held Japan this month.

Kasai has been active as the main force of the team since his first year of university and has participated in the Hakone Ekiden for four consecutive years. In his second year, he contributed to the team's first overall runner-up and became the driving force behind his breakthrough. After graduating, he belonged to the business group Asahi Kasei and won his first victory in the men's 10,000 meters at the Japan Championships on May 3 last year. He also participated in the Paris Olympics in the same event and fought hard with 20th place. This World Championship will be a member of the Japan national team following last year's Paris Olympics.

The World Championships Tokyo will open on Friday, September 13, and the men's 10,000-meter final in which Kasai will compete will be held at the Japan National Stadium from 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 14. Thank you for your warm support for Kasai.
