Faculty of Economics students from our university received the Best Poster Award at the Asian Society for Environmental and Resource Economics Conference.

At the Asian Association of Environmental and Resource Economics (AAERE) conference held in Beijing, China, from August 25th to 27th, Kimihiro Horinouchi and Sachie Iijima, Faculty of Economics third-year students of our university, presented in a poster session and presented Best Poster Award.
The award-winning poster is the result of a research that analyzes the effects of the "Bring Your Own Cutlery Discount!" policy implemented by our university. In the spring and fall semesters of the 2024 academic year, we introduced a discount system in the student hall and verified how the percentage of students bringing their own cutlery changed through a difference analysis. The results confirmed that the provision of a discount scheme is a valid economic incentive to encourage people to bring their own cutlery. In addition, through a questionnaire survey, additional measures were presented to promote the spread of my cutlery on campus.
This research was funded by the Soka University SDGs Good Practice and was conducted with the cooperation of the Student Hall and the Grand Cafe.
