Double Dutch Club R2 Students Win Second Place at Double Dutch Delight Japan 2025

On Saturday, October 18th, "Double Dutch Delight Japan 2025" was held at Culttz Kawasaki, where the Soka University Double Dutch Club R2 team, "Daiichi Tenkuu Tai" (First Sky Unit), won second place in the OPEN division (for undergraduate and vocational school students). This is the first time in the club's 21 years of existence that they have competed in the national tournament and achieved second place.

This tournament is the nation's highest level competition, where teams that have won preliminary rounds held in each region of the country (Tohoku, Kanto, Kansai, Kyushu, Chugoku) and the final round of the day's losers' bracket come together to perform in a bid to be crowned the best double dutch team in Japan. This year, the 20th time the tournament has been held, a total of 12 teams from all over the country participated.

The First Sky Force's comments are as follows:

"The First Sky Unit was formed by fourth-year students who had a strong desire to compete in the national tournament. During this tournament, there were many times when we struggled with pressure and anxiety, but we were able to turn these into our strength and deliver a highly entertaining and satisfying performance. We owe this result to the generous support of our seniors, juniors, classmates, families, and coaches, as well as the warm cheers of the spectators who came to the venue. We would like to express our sincere gratitude. This marks the end of our activities as the First Sky Unit, but we would like to ask for your continued support and encouragement for the Soka University Double Dutch Club R2."
