Masahiro Tateishi of our university's baseball team was drafted by the Hanshin Tigers, and pitcher Taiyo Yamazaki was drafted by the Tokyo Yakult Swallows.

On Thursday, October 23, the 2025 Professional Baseball Draft Conference was held in Tokyo, and Masahiro Tateishi (Faculty of Law 4th year) from the Soka University Baseball Club won the negotiating rights after three teams competed with each other for the first pick in the draft. In addition, pitcher Taiyo Yamazaki (Faculty of Business Administration 4th year) received the third pick from the Tokyo Yakult Swallows.

The Global Square Discovery Hall of TUFS was used as a public viewing venue and press conference venue, and approximately 900 students, faculty, and staff members watched the event. The press conference was attended by 90 members of the press from 43 companies.

Upon being selected, Masahiro Tateishi said, "I am very happy to have been selected as the first draft pick by multiple teams. My honest impression is that the Hanshin Tigers are a strong team. I believe my greatest strength is my batting, so I would like to continue to improve that. First of all, I will aim to play for the first team, and I will make good use of the time I have from now on, and I would like to play in front of you all as soon as possible."
Pitcher Yamazaki Taiyo also commented, "I am very happy to have been selected by the Tokyo Yakult Swallows with the third pick. I will do my best to pitch to help my team win at the historic Jingu Stadium. I am confident in my fastball, so I would like to use my height to my advantage in pitching even as a professional. I will also practice hard so that I can compete with Tateishi Masahiro on the professional stage."
