In the Tama edition of the Asahi Shimbun on December 13, 2025, an article about the event by Faculty of Letters Associate Professor Hanna Nishikawa and others was published in the Asahi Shimbun on December 13, 2025.
In an article titled "Let's think about social issues from the shopping street of Hachioji City, university students report on community activities", the state of the book "Hachioji and Welfare Town Development" written by Associate Professor Nishikawa and others held at the Naka Gallery Hall in Hachioji City on December 10 (Wednesday) was introduced.
At the event, in addition to Associate Professor Nishikawa, Professor Takao Ito of the University of Hachioji Faculty of Letters took the stage and talked about Hachioji's regional strength, welfare, and community development initiatives.
After that, seven students from the Nishikawa Seminar, who are the official partners of the Hachioji Kitaguchi Shopping Association, reported on their activities for the year, including submitting articles to local mini-comic newspapers and cooperating with local events.
In addition, two participants from the university's Faculty of Letters course "Special Lecture on Philosophy and Thought" (in charge: Professor Ito) who worked on this project gave a report on the "Student Book Selection Corner" featuring books featuring Hachioji and Mt. Takao held at Kumazawa Bookstore Hachioji Store, and discussed the future of community, welfare, and collaboration through cross-talk with the speakers.
