On Tuesday, December 9th, the final screening meeting of the "22nd Campus Venture Grand Prix Tokyo Competition", known as the gateway to success for student entrepreneurs, was held at Kasumiyama Kaikan in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo. This tournament is sponsored by the Campus Venture Grand Prix Tokyo Executive Committee and co-sponsored by the Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun and the Resona Group. Our university Faculty of Business Administration ・Yasuda's seminar team Zinnia won the Encouragement Award.

85 teams from all over the country applied for this competition, and 11 teams that passed the document screening (1st screening) and presentation screening (2nd screening) participated in the final screening. Team Zinnia, which won the Encouragement Award, took issue with the fact that many of the inedible parts of the managed captured deer were discarded. We devised a mechanism to use these unused parts as ingredients for pet food and a business model to sell the pet food. In order to explore the feasibility of the business, we interviewed more than 100 producers and more than 200 consumers, and reported on the process of creating and verifying an MVP (Minimum Viable Product).

The chairman of the jury said, "Recently, the damage caused by bears has been attracting attention, but the damage to crops by deer is also serious, and it is a timely idea." Sachiko Nishioka (3rd year), who served as the deputy leader, said, "In the business contest, there were more barriers to overcome than I imagined, such as thinking about how to work as a business and sorting out the issues that needed to be addressed. Although I am still frustrated with the results, I learned the importance of continuing to ask "what for". I feel that by continuing to hold this perspective, each challenge will have a certain meaning. We will continue to take on challenges based on this learning."
