On Saturday, December 13th, the final competition of the "Japan Student Economics Seminar Conference (commonly known as the Japan Student Economics Seminar (commonly known as the Inter-Conference) 2025" was held at Kansai University's Senriyama Campus (Suita City, Osaka Prefecture). SPARK, a team of the Yasuda Seminar of the Faculty of Business Administration of our university, won the top prize in one of the subcommittees that participated.

Approximately 90 teams from 22 universities across the country participated in this year's competition. Of these, 25 teams that made it through the preliminary rounds advanced to the finals. Teams SPARK and Zinnia from Yasuda's seminar participated from our university. Team SPARK, which won the grand prize, focused on the fact that shoplifting in supermarkets has become a serious problem in recent years. With the cooperation of a security system company, they created an educational video to prevent shoplifting. After that, with the permission of a major supermarket, they conducted a field test at an actual store and reported the results.

The judges gave high praise, saying, "It's clear that you've put a great deal of time and energy into your project activities. Not only have you thought about this problem logically, but it's also amazing that you've involved many people and even conducted on-site testing."

Vice-leader Takubo Yui (3rd year) said, "We were able to achieve this result not only because each and every member worked hard and never gave up until the end, but also because we had the support of many people, including Professor Yasuda, our seminar mentors, senior alumni, the security companies and retail industry that cooperated with us, and our families who have supported us. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who has been involved in our activities. We will continue to work hard in our respective places, drawing on what we have learned over the past year."
