At the policy forum of the "ISFJ Japan Policy Student Conference" held at Meiji University on December 13 (Sat) and 14 (Sun), the Nobuyuki Kanazawa Seminar team of the Faculty of Economics of our university won the "Breakout Prize (the highest prize in the subcommittee)".

The Student Policy Forum of Japan (ISFJ) has the vision of "realizing a desirable society through student policy proposals," and is a forum where students make policy proposals under the guidance of experts from industry, government, and academia. 116 teams from 25 universities across the country participated. Papers were presented at a forum in December, and after rigorous review by experts, awards were given to teams that made outstanding proposals.

The winning team from Kanazawa's seminar, which participated in the Labor and Employment 1 subcommittee, presented their research on the topic of "Promoting Women's Participation - Considering the Paternity Leave System for Men." The team focused on the imbalance in the burden of housework and childcare that hinders women's careers, and conducted empirical analysis and interview surveys on the impact of paternity leave on men. Based on the results, they proposed promoting paternity leave for men and creating a society in which women can thrive. The quality of their research and proposals was highly praised.

A student from the winning team said, "It was difficult to find time to discuss things because all of our members had to balance their various activities, but we made an effort to have constructive discussions while making use of each member's unique strengths. We hope that our research will contribute to further promoting women's participation in society."
