Hosho Imoto, a Graduate School of Teacher Education student at our university, received the "National Youth Education Promotion Organization Corporation Volunteer Commendation in Reiwa 7"

Hosho Imoto, a third-year student at the Graduate School of Teacher Education Graduate School of Teacher Education at our university, received the "Reiwa 7 National Youth Education Organization Volunteer Award" from the National Youth Education Promotion Organization.

This award honors students who have continued to exemplify other activities by balancing academic and volunteer activities, and Mr. Imoto was highly recognized for his many years of efforts to support experiential activities at the National Nasu Koshi Youth Nature House located in Fukushima Prefecture.

At the certificate presentation ceremony held at our university on Tuesday, March 17, two people from the Natural House were welcomed, and in addition to Mr. Imoto, President Mika Suzuki and Kenichi Ishimaru, dean of the Graduate School of Teacher Education, attended the ceremony.

At the award ceremony, there was a proxy speech by Motoko Sato, director of the Nature House, and expressed her gratitude to Ms. Imoto for being a core member of the volunteer and for demonstrating her ability to act flexibly and make accurate judgments, and to be proactively involved in activities.

In addition, President Suzuki expressed his gratitude for the natural house and praised Mr. Imoto's sincere activities as he embodied one of the missions of the university, which is to contribute to the community and society.

When receiving the award, Mr. Imoto said, "At first, I was not good at interacting with people, but as I continued my activities, I was moved many times by the way the children deepened their confidence and changed vividly through their experiences. In graduate school, I studied the significance of accommodation experience in school education and realized the great value of the experience of overcoming difficulties with my peers. With gratitude to everyone who has supported me so far, I would like to cherish the opportunity to experience that will lead to the growth of children as a teacher from spring."
