The 13th SAGE JAPAN CUP was held at our university.

The 13th SAGE JAPAN CUP was held on Friday, March 20th.
SAGE JAPAN is an inquiry activity program in which high school students devise and implement projects to solve social issues, and its activities begin in September every year, and the results of its devisation and implementation over a period of about half a year are presented at a domestic tournament called the "SAGE JAPAN CUP", and the winning team is awarded the right to participate in the "SAGE WORLD CUP", a world competition.
In this competition, about 40 high school students from 7 schools and 10 teams participated in the competition, and they have devised and implemented projects to solve problems from the perspectives of discarded vegetables, human relationships, and graffiti art. Each team had 1~2 university student supporters, and they gave feedback on the activities of high school students from the perspective of university students.
On the day of the conference, we held events such as consultation sessions with companies about projects, lectures with guests, and exchange meetings to create horizontal connections between high school students.
Hazuki Mukai (graduated in 2025) of the Faculty of Education Takeshi Miyazaki Laboratory, who served as the representative of SAGE JAPAN, which operates this program, said, "I realized once again the importance of inquiry activities that go into practice. I believe that the value of learning that continues to be involved in society, not just surveys and presentations, will shine through. In fact, SAGE JAPAN has a team that continues to work on projects even after graduating from high school, and high school students who are becoming more aware of the issues they have worked on and leading to career choices. I would like to continue to support an environment where high school students can take on challenges and gain authentic experiences."
