The girls' judo team won their fifth consecutive title at the 2026 Tokyo Judo Championships! The boys' judo team also put up a good fight.

On Sunday, May 24th, the 2026 Tokyo Judo Championship was held at the Nippon Budokan in Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo, and both the men's and women's judo clubs of our university participated.

The women's team competed in the second division (3-person team), and each athlete displayed exceptional concentration and skill, ultimately winning the championship. This marks their fifth consecutive victory in the tournament. They have earned a ticket to the national tournament (2026 All Japan Intercollegiate Judo Championship) to be held on June 27th (Sat) and 28th (Sun) of this year.

The men's team achieved a resounding victory against Rissho University in the first round of the main tournament. In the second round, they suffered a close defeat against seeded team Teikyo University of Science. However, in the first round of the consolation round, which kept their hopes of reaching the national tournament alive, they won against Tokyo University of Science. In the following second round, they engaged in a thrilling, back-and-forth battle against Musashi University. Although they were ultimately defeated and missed out on a place in the national tournament, they maintained their aggressive judo style until the very end.
