Arthur Andambi, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of the Republic of Kenya in Japan, visited our university.

On Monday, May 25, Arthur Andanbi, Deputy Director of the Republic of Kenya in Japan, visited our university and held a discussion with Vice President Akio Nishiura and others at the Global Square.

During the discussion, Deputy Director Andambi emphasized that the meeting between the founder, Mr. Daisaku Ikeda, and Dr. Wangari Matai, Nobel Peace Prize laureate of the Republic of Kenya, remains the foundation of exchanges between the two countries. "We want to further strengthen our network with higher education institutions in both countries and deepen exchanges and joint research among students," he said. Vice President Nishiura said, "I am grateful for the opportunity to welcome Deputy Director Andambi in this festive year marking the 20th anniversary of Dr. Martai's visit, and I hope to continue building a sustainable partnership and deepening the bonds of friendship toward mutual development."

On the same day, Deputy Director Andanbi gave a lecture to the university students entitled "The History and Development of the Swahili Language."
The following comments were received from the participating students:
I had a very good experience listening to interesting stories about the history of the Swahili language and the importance of one's native language.
This provided an opportunity to consider important issues, such as the disappearance of other languages due to the development of one language.
