Our university team won first place at the 2026 Self-Defense Firefighting Training Competition! We achieved our fifth consecutive victory.

The 57th Self-Defense Firefighting Training Review Meeting, co-hosted by Hachioji Fire Department and the Hachioji Fire Prevention Management Research Association, was held on Friday, June 12, at Fujimori Park in Hachioji City. In the "No. 1 Fire Hydrant (a judging contest where two people operate the hose)," a total of 16 teams from businesses within Hachioji City participated, and as a result of the evaluation, our university's fire brigade won first place. Including the record set by the men's team, they achieved five consecutive championships.

Fire department managers Yuma Sakamoto (Academic Affairs Department staff member) and Yuka Hirai (Learning Support Services staff) stated, "Thanks to everyone's ongoing support, we were able to achieve our fifth consecutive championship. Going forward, we will continue to apply what we learned in the fire department to our daily work, striving to ensure campus safety and contribute to the community."

This judging session confirms each team's proficiency in basic handling and various operational techniques of indoor fire hydrants, and also competes in activities such as indoor hydrant operation, aiming to improve fire safety awareness and activity skills.
