The Nomura Seminar of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration receives a certificate of appreciation at the "Paper Resource Recycling Seminar" hosted by the NPO Genki Net! ~Industry-academia collaboration on on-campus resource recycling~

On Tuesday, July 28th, the NPO Genki Net for Creating a Sustainable Society hosted a resource circulation seminar titled "Paper Resource Recycling Created Through Industry-Government-Citizen Collaboration," and the Nomura Seminar of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (*) at our university received a letter of appreciation from the organization.
At the presentation ceremony, Mr. Ryuki Morishita of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (Materials Industry Division, Manufacturing Industries Bureau) spoke about the importance of paper resource recycling through collaboration between industry, government, academia, and the public, and its future prospects.

The Nomura Seminar is engaged in environmental promotion activities aimed at realizing a sustainable campus. In collaboration with Corelex Shinei Co., Ltd., the seminar has proposed and is promoting an "on-campus resource recycling system" that collects mixed paper (miscellaneous paper) generated on campus and recycles it into toilet paper for use within the campus. This initiative has been recognized as an advanced resource recycling effort by the NPO "Genki Net for Creating a Sustainable Society," and the seminar has received a letter of appreciation.
Furthermore, this initiative also received an Excellence Award at the 4th Soka University SDGs Good Practice Contest.

One student from the seminar commented, "Hearing greetings from representatives of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, as well as presentations from companies and organizations at the forefront of environmental issues and recycling, we were reminded once again of the significant social value of the paper resource collection we conduct on campus. We express our sincere gratitude to Corelex Shinei Co., Ltd., who collaborates with us, and to everyone on campus who supports our activities on a daily basis. Encouraged by receiving this certificate of appreciation, we will continue to raise awareness of sorting on campus and expand the circle of resource recycling."

(*Note) Students belonging to the seminar are Faculty of Business Administration. From April 2026 onwards, they will be Faculty of Economics and Business Administration students.
