The Nomura Seminar from the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration carried out toilet paper packaging work at "Food Bank Hachioji Works".
On Friday, October 2nd, the Nomura Seminar from the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at our university visited the employment support facility "Food Bank Hachioji Works" and worked with the facility's users packaging toilet paper.
This activity was conducted as part of the environmental conservation and community collaboration initiatives promoted by the Nomura Seminar. On the day of the event, the students used original wrapping paper designed by themselves and learned specialized hand-packaging techniques from a representative of Corelex Shinei Co., Ltd., a company collaborating on this project.
Although the seminar students initially struggled with the unfamiliar process, thanks to the company's careful guidance and the cooperation of the facility staff, they completed the packaging of a total of 500 rolls. The finished toilet paper will be gradually placed in various locations around the campus.
After the work was completed, a representative from Corelex Shinei Co., Ltd. visited the university to inspect the operation of the "mixed paper collection boxes" installed on campus. This circular project, which collects and recycles waste paper generated on campus, has been recognized as an excellent and innovative initiative and received an Excellence Award in the university's "SDGs Good Practice Contest."
One of the participating seminar students commented, "It was an extremely valuable opportunity to see the designs we devised take shape and to work on them together with everyone at the facility. We are truly grateful for the opportunity to gain practical experience and interact with others."
