The 56th Soka University Festival and the 42nd Shiratori Festival were held.

Opening Ceremony

On Saturday, October 10th, the 56th Sotai Festival & 42nd Shiratori Festival Commemorative Festival were held at our university Ikeda Auditorium.

In the welcome performance before the opening, our university's student dance team SWDC, which represented Japan at the 2026 FISU (Moscow International University Sports Federation) World University Cheerleading Championships held in June this year and won the gold medal, delivered a stunning dance.

The main part of the ceremony opened with a greeting from President Mika Suzuki and a fanfare by Pride of SOKA.
The following student performances included a dance by D.I CREW, A CAPPELLA singing by the Soka A Cappella Band (SACB), acting by Ichari Bacho Days, dance by international students from around the world, choir by junior college students, and student volunteer singing, followed by a chorus of student volunteers by all participants.
After the student performance, a speech video by the founder, Professor Ikeda, was screened.

For the students of Soka Women’s College, this year was the last Swan Festival. Following the chorus of the student-composed song "Shōenka," Yuri Mizushima, a fourth-year law student who transferred from junior college to our university, gave a speech representing the students. Reflecting on passing a difficult exam after many hardships, Ms. Mizushima said, "We will apply what we learned from Soka Education in society and take on the challenge of giving back."

On the following days, Sunday the 11th and Monday the 12th (a holiday), the Sodai Festival and Shiratori Festival were held on campus to the public. Events such as exhibitions, food stalls, international student cafés operated in cooperation between international and Japanese students, and club groups were held. In addition, events organized by the executive committee such as the opening parade ceremony, symposium, and after-party were held.
