The Asahi Shimbun is a web media specializing in SDGs operated by the Asahi Shimbun "Asahi Shimbun SDGs ACTION!" An article supervised by Lecturer Hirokazu Ueda of our university Faculty of Law was posted.
In this article, from the perspective of constitutional law and comparative constitutional law, which Lecturer Ueda specializes in, he explains how a society should be in which individual dignity and diverse ways of life should be recognized in modern society. In particular, in relation to SDGs Goal 5 "Achieve gender equality" and Goal 10 "Eliminate inequality between people and countries", the book explains from a professional perspective on the protection of the rights of sexual minorities, legal issues surrounding same-sex marriage, and trends in other countries.
Lecturer Ueda said, "The purpose of this article is to provide materials for young people in their teens and 20s to actively think about the issue of same-sex marriage. I hope that many people, including our students, will be interested in same-sex marriage and that active discussions will be developed."
