Our university established the "International Cooperation and Diplomacy Human Resource Development Center" on September 1, 2026. We plan to launch the "International Cooperation and Diplomacy Career Development Support Program" in April 2027.

Main contents of the "International Cooperation and Diplomatic Career Development Support Program"
■Career support by career path:
We provide support to help each student achieve their career goals, focusing on three main courses: "International Civil Servant," "International Cooperation," and "Diplomacy."
■ Establishment of an "Advisory Board":
We will establish a system in which experts with specialized knowledge and extensive international experience provide advice and guidance to students.
■ "Introduction to the UN SDGs" course begins:
We offer a common course (special lecture in general subjects) accredited by the United Nations University SDG University Partnership Platform.
■ Establishment of the "Cross-Border Learning and Experience Grant":
We will establish a grant program to encourage opportunities for practical experience in the fields of international cooperation and diplomacy.
■ Provision of extracurricular courses:
We offer courses on international cooperation and support the acquisition of various certifications and qualifications.
Background of the Center's Establishment
■ The increasingly complex international society and the social demand for diplomatic and international cooperation personnel
In recent years, in addition to rising geopolitical risks, global challenges such as climate change, conflict, and widening inequality have become increasingly complex and severe. In this context, it has become an urgent global priority to nurture and secure human resources with advanced expertise and practical skills who can collaborate with diverse actors in international cooperation and diplomacy, including the United Nations, as well as national governments, NGOs, and citizens, who can proactively contribute to the realization of a sustainable and peaceful world through nonviolence.
■ Our University's Initiatives and Achievements
Since its founding in 1971, our university has been committed to fostering global citizens who contribute to peace under the Founding Spirit of 'Fortress Guardians of Human Peace.' Currently, we have built a network with 281 universities in 72 countries and regions (as of the end of August 2026), promoting global education.
In fiscal year 2014, we were selected for the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology's 'Top Global University Creation Support' project, and in the 'THE Nihon University Rankings 2025' for 'Internationality', our university ranked in the national top 10 for five consecutive years. Additionally, we achieved first place in Japan in the 'SDG4: Quality Education' category in the 'THE Sustainability Impact Rating 2026', demonstrating our high acclaim. Additionally, in June 2025, we officially joined the international education network 'UNESCO Schools' led by UNESCO.
Furthermore, graduates are active in a wide range of fields, including diplomacy, international public servants, overseas graduate studies, and global corporations. As of fiscal year 2026, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has produced a total of 79 successful candidates in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Specialist Recruitment Exam, and ranked 7th nationwide in the Asahi Shimbun Publishing University Ranking 2027 for the number of successful candidates (2007~2025), demonstrating a strong track record in international human resource development.

Against the backdrop of growing social demands and the achievements our university has cultivated, we will establish this center to build a systematic and supportive support system that goes beyond conventional frameworks. We will continuously nurture human resources who bring together a strong network of faculty, staff, alumni, and external experts, practice value creation, and contribute to peace and development in the international community.
