Public relations magazine "SUN"

In this issue, we focus on "connections with people" as the driving force that drives Soka University and Junior College students to surpass the growth curve they envisioned when they enrolled. Through interviews with students and graduates who were greatly influenced by their seniors, classmates, and faculty and staff, we introduce stories of how they broke through their limits through "connections." The comedy duo "Knights," who are graduates of our university, also cooperated in the discussion project. In addition, as a joint project between SUN and the official Soka University Instagram, we are publishing posts by students that could not be introduced in the magazine under the theme "#Breaking through Limits with Connections." The 114th issue (July 2022 issue) of Soka University News "SUN", our university's public relations magazine, has been completed. This issue begins with a dialogue between economic thinker Saito Kohei, author of the best-selling book "Capital in the Anthropocene" which has sold over 450,000 copies, and Professor Ito Takao of our Faculty of Letters of Letters. In a special feature titled "#MyGrowth", we will interview students and graduates to find out about episodes in which they felt they had "grown" during their university and junior college life. The 113th issue (April 2022 issue) of our university's public relations magazine, Soka University News "SUN", has been completed. This issue begins with a dialogue between the new President, Masashi Suzuki and Yasuko Kimura (the first principal of Osaka Municipal Ozora Elementary School in Osaka Prefecture), who was the model for the movie "Minna no Gakkou" (Everybody's School). In the special feature titled "Discover SOKA", we explore the charm of the campus that nurtures the individuality of students from the four perspectives of "gathering", "learning", "relaxing", and "polishing". Soka University News "SUN" No. 112 (January 2022), the university's PR magazine, is now available. This issue features a conversation between Ms. NON (actress, creative artist and film director) and Professor Yukio SUGIYAMA (Faculty of Letters), as well as a special feature entitled "Create Next! The feature article introduces four case studies of "Data Science Education," "Life Science," "Community Creation," and "SDGs" as examples of evolving and deepening "global citizen education. This issue has the theme of "SDGs", and features a dialogue between Rina Akimoto, representative of "Tabechoku", and Associate Professor Masanori Yasuda of our university's Faculty of Business Administration, as well as a special feature introducing the SDGs activities of Soka University and Junior College through a roundtable discussion with four representative students. The 110th issue (July 2021 issue) of our university's public relations magazine, Soka University News "SUN", has been completed. This issue features a dialogue between TV personality and film commentator LiLiCo and Associate Professor Daniel Sasaki of Faculty of International Liberal Arts at our university, and a special feature on the theme of "50 Years of Study Abroad", introducing the results of our international exchange efforts through interviews with people who have studied abroad. In addition, the issue is packed with useful information such as advice from students to those taking entrance exams, as part of a "Summer Study Tips Special".

The 109th issue (April 2021 issue) of Soka University News "SUN", our university's public relations magazine, has been completed. This issue commemorates the 50th anniversary of the founding of the university, and includes a dialogue between Athens Olympic gold medalist Mizuki Noguchi and our university's Ekiden team coach Kazuki Enoki, as well as a special feature that delivers encouragement from graduates to Soka University and current students as they move forward into the future. Other features include President 's vision for 2021, a "Thank You" project for students and parents to share their thoughts in the Kansai region, an academic tour of "DX in university education", career paths of graduates, campus news, and much more. The "Kaiso Photo Gallery" features a photo of the bronze statue in front of the Humanities Building A.

The 108th issue (January 2021 issue) of our university's newsletter, Soka University News "SUN" has been completed. In this issue, we invited the entertainment industry rakugo performer Hayashiya Taihei to our university to talk with Associate Professor Adachi Hiromi of Faculty of Education on the theme of "Challenges in the COVID-19 Pandemic"! In the "Focus Soka" project, which explores the charms of Soka University, we introduce Soka University students who practice value creation in their respective fields, such as student dormitories, job hunting, and international student associations, under the title "Current Status of Soka University Students", and also feature Distance Learning Division and Soka Women’s College College, which celebrated its 35th anniversary. The 107th issue (October 2020 issue) of our university's public relations magazine, Soka University News "SUN", has been completed. In this issue, we introduce graduates who are active on the front lines of society to prevent the spread of COVID-19. This time, we feature those who are working hard in the fields of medicine, social welfare, tourism, and sports. In addition, we also publish information about how we are working to prevent infection as some face-to-face classes will resume in the fall semester. In addition, we introduce a page introducing the new entrance examination system and research being undertaken by two faculty members Faculty of Science and Engineering. The 106th issue (July 2020 issue) of the university's newsletter, Soka University News "SUN" has been completed. Soka University News "SUN" No. 101 (April 2019 issue), the university's public relations magazine, has been completed. From this issue, the design and planning structure have been completely renewed for the 50th anniversary of the founding in 2021, and the paper condenses the university's efforts to foster global citizens' that can create value. This issue, which marks a new start, features a special dialogue with celebrities that captures the current state of the university from a fresh perspective, including a dialogue between TV personality and businessman Bobby Orogun and Associate Professor Michiyo Kakegawa of Faculty of Economics, and a new project "Over the border" featuring Ms. Momoko Kurihara (Faculty of Law 36th class, 2010 graduate), who works at the Consulate General of León Japan in Mexico. The 100th issue (January 2019 issue) of our university's public relations magazine, Soka University News "SUN", has been completed. Since the first issue was published in 1994, it has been published repeatedly for 25 years. This issue has the theme of "Our origins and challenges for the future" and features alumni who are active in various fields of society, such as Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles batting coach Eiichi Kotani and comedy duo Knights. Other features include an interview with Chairperson, Board of Trustees Yasunori Tashiro titled "The journey of the 100th issue: Prospects for the 50th anniversary of the founding," a "survey of current students and alumni" conducted by student public relations staff, academic exploration, and university and student news.

This issue is a special feature on SDGs!
