Student Awards
Soka University Da Vinci Award
The Soka University Da Vinci Award was established in 2000 as part of the university's 30th anniversary commemorations, with the following three objectives:
- Improving students' creativity and academic motivation
- Thorough implementation of our university's policy of "emphasizing study"
- To develop a holistic person with a wide range of knowledge
As a symbol of the "whole man" that constitutes this goal, we have named it after Leonardo da Vinci, a universal genius who possessed outstanding intellect and rich sensibility.
Through past selections, the outstanding achievements of our students both on and off campus have become widely known, and the award has become established within the university as a meaningful honor that inspires future students.

Soka University Schliemann Prize
This award was established with the aim of further nurturing human resources with excellent language communication skills at Soka University, which prides itself on its proactive international exchange, and of producing internationally minded global citizens.
This award, named after Schliemann, who demonstrated exceptional linguistic talent with a passion for living his "great dream," will recognize the efforts and achievements of Soka University students who are dedicated to language learning.
The founder, throughout Schliemann's life,
"There is nothing stronger than the power of youthful effort."
"There is nothing stronger than a man who lives by the aspirations of his youth."
It is said that...
We hope to produce talented individuals from Soka University who will have the indomitable spirit of Schliemann and who will soar out into the world in academic pursuits, and we will continue to support all students who are dedicated to their studies, including language acquisition.
