Mr. Daisaku Ikeda, the founder of our university, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2023.

Founder Ikeda established many Soka Education institutions, which was the long-cherished wish of Tsunesaburo Makiguchi, the father of Soka education, and his disciple, Josei Toda, and have worked to foster "global citizens" who can protect the peace of humankind and contribute to humanity. The educational institutions founded by Mr. Ikeda include Soka Junior and Senior High Schools, Soka University, Soka Women’s Junior and Senior High School (now Kansai Soka Junior School and Senior High School), Soka University of America, Sapporo Soka Kindergarten, Tokyo Soka Elementary School, Kansai Soka Elementary School, Soka Women’s College, kindergartens and preschool in Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, and Korea, Brazil Soka Schools, and Soka International School Malaysia (SISM).

We offer our sincere condolences and pledge to do our best in research and education to eternally carry on and convey the spirit of Soka Education to the world that Founder Ikeda had realized and developed.
