The baseball team performed well in the 74th All-Japan University Baseball Championship

Pitcher Saito pitched well, allowing no runs in the seventh inning.

Our university's baseball team participated in the 74th All-Japan University Baseball Championship (sponsored by the All-Japan University Baseball Federation, a public interest incorporated foundation, and The Yomiuri Shimbun) for the 25th time, and for the first time in two years.

Our university played against Toa University (Chugoku District University Baseball League) in the first round at Tokyo Dome on Monday, June 9th.
In the game, our starting pitcher, Yu Saito (4th year), pitched well, with no walks and no runs allowed in the 7th inning. The second pitcher, Taiyo Yamazaki (4th year), also pitched 2 innings without allowing any runs, and the game went into an extra innings tiebreaker with both teams still scoreless. Although the opposing team took control of the game in the top of the 10th inning and we lost 11-0, we fought well until the end.

After the match, coach Sato Yasuhiro said, "We struggled to hit the opposing team's good pitchers and were unable to perform to our full potential. We will come together as a team and start practicing from scratch so that we can get revenge in the fall."

Thank you very much for your warm support for the Soka University Baseball Team.
