Staff from Soka University’s Thailand Office participated in a Summer Seminar (Community Development in Bangkok) organized by the Department of Regional Development Studies, Faculty of Global and Regional Studies, Toyo University.

This seminar is a one-week program consisting of fieldwork for the undergraduate students studying in the Department of Regional Development Studies, Faculty of Global and Regional Studies at Toyo University, and such programs are conducted every year in Bangkok.

This year, the seminar’s focus was research on the slums in Bangkok, and the students experienced the reality of the slums firsthand. They conducted their study through interviews, group work, and made their final presentations towards the community, which made it a fulfilling experience.

In the future, Soka University would like to actively incorporate similar initiatives in the development of study programs at the University.
