|専門分野||International relations, global economic governance.
|研究テーマ||Global economic governance since the twentieth century; Group of Twenty (G20) relations; multilateralism; shifting authority, ideas, and beliefs in international relations.|
|研究内容||I have published books and articles on international relations, on topics such as the G20 and the “BRICS” countries. This includes the recent books, G20 Since the Global Crisis (Palgrave Macmillan, 2016); and The Shifting Global Economic Architecture: Decentralizing Authority in Contemporary Global Governance (Palgrave Macmillan, 2017). I am particularly interested in how political beliefs and ideas shift over time, especially during moments of crisis.|
Policies in research and education
I try to be innovative in my research and analytical approach to international relations, to gain insights beyond conventional wisdom in the field. This is also central to my teaching philosophy, as I encourage students to develop their critical analytical understanding of the topics we study.
Message to students
I am pleased to welcome students to the Graduate School of International Peace Studies at Soka University. I look forward to having some excellent discussions about the fascinating developments in international relations.
I gained my PhD in 2007, from the School of Government at the University of Essex, UK. I have worked for several years in Mexico, most recently at the University of Guadalajara, teaching and researching in areas of International Relations.
