加住小学校6年生と創大生が英語教育を通して国際交流を行いました！
加住小学校６年生との交流の様子②
令和４年12月22日（木）加住小学校6年生の児童41名と引率教員4名が本学を訪問し、SPACeのワールドランゲージセンターにて本学学生による英語活動の授業と国際交流をしました。
国際交流ではインド、フィリピン、マレーシア、シンガポール、ベトナム、ブラジル、留学経験のある日本人の本学生とトランプ等の活動を通して積極的に英語でコミュニケーションをとっていました。
これは教育学部の「英語特講（ダニエル ササキ准教授）」の授業の一環として毎年行われているイベントで、同科目の受講者は毎月１回加住小学校での英語活動の支援を行っています。毎年１２月に行われるこの取り組みは、児童、及び加住小関係者に大変喜ばれており、加住小学校の学校行事としても定着しつつあります。

The students were very sweet; more than that, it was really interesting to talk and play with students that had such a wide variety in terms of personality and social style. “It was a fast paced and fun event. The kids were very cute, energetic and had different personalities. I had a lot of fun doing the activity with different groups of students. It was definitely a memorable and special experience. I hope that even though the activity was short, I could help the students practice English and enjoy themselves at the same time.”

“The exchange was an invaluable opportunity to offer the students a glimpse at the "Microcosm of Peace" we are fostering here at Soka University. It reminded me of when I first arrived at the university, in awe at the diversity on campus that continues to widen the horizons of how I think. I believe the children had a similar experience, at the very least understanding that the world is much, much bigger and has so much more to offer than they may have originally thought it to be. The brief time we had with the children may seem small and meaningless in the grand scheme of their lives, but I believe that it's small efforts like these that accumulate to incite profound change in an individual.”
