For the cultivation of global citizens who creatively lead the international community facing various unprecedented challenges with the acceleration of globalization, the Graduate School of International Peace Studies (SIPS) will engage in research activities and educational programs on the peaceful and sustainable global society.

Toward its 50th anniversary in 2020-2021, Soka University is promoting the internationalization of its all undergraduate and graduate programs to make the university a global core of Global Citizenship education. As an important milestone for this initiative, SIPS is launched as a new English medium master’s program in the fields of International Relations and Peace Studies.

With their professional academic knowledge and skills in the fields of International Relations and Peace Studies, students of SIPS are expected to contribute to the realization of the peaceful and sustainable global society through their respectively acquired careers at public and/or private sectors. SIPS will also assist those students who wish to pursue a doctor’s degree in a more conventional academic field (please note that SIPS offers no doctorate program).

SIPS is such an innovative academic and educational challenge in Soka University’s history that I am excited with studying with students coming from all over the world.
