On July 29, a special commencement ceremony for exchange students, students in Non-Degree Pro-gram as well as students from Soka University of America was held at Discovery hall in the central academic tower.

Soka University Vice President Ryohei Tanaka read a message on behalf of the university founder Daisaku Ikeda, who commended the graduating students for their patience, effort as well as persever-ance. He emphasized that the friendships they forged with their fellow students at Soka will serve them far into the future and urged them to accomplish their goals no matter what.

Soka University President Yoshihisa Baba handed a certificate of completion to each of the 106 stu-dents from 36 countries. He praised their effort as well as accomplishment and encouraged them to become global citizens with wisdom, compassion and courage.
