On May 29, a group of nine students and two professors from the game design department at Fitchburg State University, Massachusetts, USA, visited Soka University’s Faculty of Engineering. They toured the various laboratories of the Information Systems Science Department and attended a lecture.

At one Soka laboratory, the Fitchburg group observed research conducted on remote communication systems using augmented reality. They were also given a demonstration of SOBIT, a robot made for communication purposes which Soka students had entered into the RoboCup@Home competition for autonomous service robots in early May.

At another lab, students viewed interactive art using swarm simulations and attended a talk on new media art, after which they engaged in a fruitful Q&A session on the subject.
