Soka economics professor lectures at international conference in Indonesia

    Soka University Faculty of Economics Professor Isao Takagi was invited to give a lecture during the 4th International Conference on Business, Economics and Social Sciences, organized by Indonesian Economic University and held in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, from August 9 to 10.
    The conference, which featured 95 presentations from nine different countries on the theme of the future of global competitiveness, was organized in collaboration with 19 universities and research institutions in the Southeast Asia region, including Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam. Some 220 people attended.
    Prof. Takagi’s lecture was held during the event’s closing ceremony on August 10, where he was introduced as an expert on the state of the Japanese and Southeast Asian economies. His talk, titled “Human Well-being as the Basis of a Resilient and Inclusive ASEAN Community,” stressed that toward 2025, providing opportunities in education and healthcare services that are equal and balanced commensurate with current development levels are indispensable to creating a truly inclusive ASEAN community that prioritizes the welfare of its people.
