On September 6, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Japan His Excellency Gursel Ismayilzada visited Soka University and met with President Yoshihisa Baba, Vice President Ryohei Tanaka and other administration officials.

　Upon viewing an exhibit introducing the history and ideals of Soka University, its legacy of academic exchange with institutions around the world and the spirit of its founder Daisaku Ikeda, Ambassador Ismayilzada expressed his joy at having had the opportunity to pay a visit to the campus. Although Soka does not have any links to Azerbaijan at present, the ambassador conveyed his wish to deepen opportunities for exchange with the university and make it possible for students from Azerbaijan to study there in years to come. President Baba welcomed the initiative and proposed that Ambassador Ismayilzada give a lecture at the institution in the near future, to which the latter responded affirmatively.
