Publishing of The Shifting Global Economic Architecture: Decentralizing Authority in Contemporary Global Governance by Associate Professor Jonathan Luckhurst of Soka University’s Graduate School of International Peace Studies

     Associate Professor Jonathan Luckhurst, from Soka University’s Graduate School of International Peace Studies and who specializes in research on international relations, gave a presentation introducing his book, The Shifting Global Economic Architecture: Decentralizing Authority in Contemporary Global Governance, published in October 2017, at the annual general meeting of the International Studies Association. The event took place from April 4 to 7, 2018 in San Francisco, U.S.

     In the book, Luckhurst shares information on decentralization in global economic governance after the Cold War, in particular, after the global financial crisis in 2008–2009.
     The annual general meeting of the International Studies Association has been held since 1959 with the purpose of holding exchange among researchers in the field of international affairs. The theme this time was “Power of Rules and the Rules of Power.” The event was participated in by approximately 6,000 researchers from various countries around the world.
