Soka University’s Team SOBITS Wins Championship in Two Categories at “RoboCup Japan Open 2018 Ogaki”

     From May 3 to 5, Soka University’s Team SOBITS, centering on members of the Faculty of Science and Engineering Choi Yongwoon Research Office, participated in “RoboCup Japan Open 2018 Ogaki” held in Ogaki City in Gifu Prefecture and won the championship in two leagues, RoboCup@Home League-Education and the World Robot Summit-Partner Robot Challenge, which were held simultaneously.

     The RoboCup@Home League-Education is a competition involving robot technology focused on supporting people in daily life. The World Robot Summit-Partner Robot Challenge was held as a prelude to World Robot Summit 2018, which will be held in October 2018 and which will host robot researchers from around the world in Japan.
     Mr. Noriyuki Kugo, who served as the leader (Graduate School of Engineering, Doctoral Program, sophomore), shared his joy of seeing the results of his current skills and expressed his determination to continue research into robots that contribute to people’s lives, while overcoming various challenges one-by-one.

    Team SOBITS is scheduled to also participate in World Robot Summit 2018, which will take place in October 2018.
