Soka University and Thammasat University Hold Joint Seminar

     From the Kingdom of Thailand, Noranit Setabutr President of the University Council Fellow of the Royal Institute and nine people from Thammasat University, came to Soka University on June 28 (Thursday) for the holding of the joint seminar between Soka University and Thammasat University under the theme of "Pedagogy for Student-Centered Teaching and Transforming Knowledge into Wisdom Toward Peace”

     Thammasat University is one of the most profound universities in the Kingdom of Thailand, and an exchange with the University began in 1985. We have been dispatching and accepting students and faculty members until now. In 2016, an undergraduate program agreement was formed between the Faculty of International Liberal Arts of the University and the Faculty of Liberal Arts at Thammasat University and established a Thai office of our university as part of the Thammasat University campus.
     The first joint seminar was held last year as a proposal by the Dr. Noranit Thammasat University President of the Council, held at Thammasat University, this time at Soka University.

     At the beginning of the seminar, President of Soka University Yoshihisa Baba briefly touched based on the 33-year exchange between Soka University and Thammasat University and mentioned, "It is important to foster capable people, who can contribute to solving global issues while global society is progressing" hoping for solutions through the joint seminar. After, Dr. Noranit Thammasat University President of the Council gave a brief remark. Afterward, Deputy Vice President and Dean of Faculty of Education Professor Masashi Suzuki and dean of Faculty of International Liberal Arts Lawrence McDonald gave keynote lectures. Then, Faculty of International Liberal Arts Professor Ichiro Sugimoto and Thammasat University Professor Teerabhat Ruensri gave presentations and lastly, Professor Dumrong Adunyarittigun gave closing remarks.
